I’m Sunwook Jin.

I grew up in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to the United States at the age of fourteen. Like many families, my parents worked hard but faced financial uncertainty. One moment in particular stayed with me. After being accepted into several colleges, my parents sat me down and explained that they did not have the savings to support tuition and living expenses away from home. It was a difficult but honest conversation that shaped how I began to think about preparation, opportunity, and long-term planning.

That experience sparked an interest in understanding how financial decisions made earlier in life can meaningfully shape future options. During college, I pursued opportunities to learn more about the financial system, including an internship at a financial firm. After graduating from Kent State University, I continued my career in the industry, gaining experience across insurance-focused planning and banking.

Over time, I became increasingly aware that many people were not looking for more information or more products. They were looking for clarity. They wanted help understanding how the pieces of their financial lives fit together, especially as decisions became more complex and more consequential.

That realization influenced how Redwood Financial Network was built. The focus is not on volume or activity, but on thoughtful guidance and long-term relationships. Our work centers on helping individuals and couples prepare for and navigate major financial transitions, particularly as retirement approaches.

On a personal note, I live in Cary, North Carolina, with my wife. Our son currently attends the University of Alabama, and watching him step into his own next chapter has been both meaningful and grounding. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on the golf course, experimenting in the kitchen, traveling, and flying as a private pilot.

I believe advisory relationships work best when they are grounded in trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to thoughtful decision-making. That belief continues to guide how I approach my work and the people I have the privilege to serve.
