Medicare’s annual open enrollment period began on October 15 and will end on December 7. During this window, current Medicare beneficiaries can adjust their coverage for the coming year if they wish and the changes to your plan will go into effect on January 1, 2022.

Use this time as an opportunity to reassess your current coverage.  See what you have in place currently and look for ways to improve your coverage. Think about things that may have changed for you.  You may need additional benefits, need a medication change or cancel certain coverage.  Especially if there has been a big change in your life.  It only takes a short amount of time to make sure you have the right coverage for yourself.

You should have received a report outlining what you currently have in place. Review the report and what your elections are, especially if you haven’t updated coverage recently. There is also the Plan Finder tool that Medicare offers to help compare other offerings you may be considering.  Medicare can be confusing and if you are looking for more guidance check out our resources page.  There is a great Q&A session with a Medicare specialist that you can watch.
